MikroTik’s RB-MUX8A is a passive MUX/DEMUX unit, which combines up to eight fibre connections to simplify and reduce the cost of long-distance fibre installations. At the end of the fibre run the combined line is split again using another RB-MUX8A unit and the corresponding SFP modules. The Coarse Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology increases the capacity of existing fibre infrastructure by enabling multiple wavelengths over a single fibre cable.
